FAQ

1. How can therapy help me?

Many benefits of therapy are unique to your presenting concern(s). Therapists can provide coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and support for several issues. Therapy can help with personal growth, interpersonal relationships, family concerns, marriage concerns, and life transitions, among other issues. However, the benefit of therapy can depend on how active you are in treatment by putting into practice what you learn.

2. How many sessions will I need?

Therapy does not have to be long. It is difficult to provide an average number of sessions for treatment because it depends on several factors. Those factors include your unique presenting concern(s), the severity of it, the length of the issue, etc. You may experience positive results within a few sessions, while others may need several months. We can discuss your expectations and availability and work collaboratively on your treatment plan to fit your needs and goals.

3. What happens during therapy?

The first session is called an intake or assessment where we will discuss your concerns as well as all aspects of your life that will help me understand you better so that I can help you. You will be required to complete paperwork and possibly some questionnaires depending on your concerns. This information will help me establish a baseline so that we measure future progress and create a unique treatment plan for you.

Second session and on we will start treatment which will consist of us talking about your concerns and depending on your needs I will support you, give you homework, discuss coping skills, or challenge you to grow.

However, state law and professional ethics require therapists to maintain confidentiality except for the following situations:
